Music is as compelling as the image, and even more so when sound and picture are combined. Below are some examples of scoring production done for advertising, film and television. I currently use Logic Studio Pro on all scoring projects.

Along with video editing and motion graphics, I scored music for the 2005 and 2006 MADD videowall campaigns. The videos were hour long wide screen presentations that have played in hundreds of high schools across Canada.

Army of One
Army of One, a 2003 award winning documentary by Sarah Goodman, is the first film I scored along with Marc Stewart. It is a film that follows 3 recruits who join the US army right after 911. From boot camp to the beginning of the Iraq war. The influences for the score were hip hop and glitchy electric sounds, Miles Davis trumpet, drones and lo fi recordings.

Whale of a Tale
Whale of a Tale is a 2004 documentary by director Peter Lynch, whose other films include Project Grizzly, The Herd and Cyberman. Along with doing a number of poster designs for Peter’s films, this is the second film I have contributed musical score to. The film is about a mysterious whale bone unearthed during subway excavation in Toronto, thousands of miles from the ocean. Influences for the score were whale music, deep water accoustics, Wagner, circus sideshows and Coney Island.
